Job Summary

We're seeking a highly experienced Senior Google Cloud Platform Cloud Architect to lead the strategic design and migration of on-premise applications to Google Cloud Platform. As a trusted advisor, you'll work closely with stakeholders to develop comprehensive cloud deployment strategies, ensure successful implementation of cloud-based solutions, and maintain the highest standards for security, scalability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Strategy Development: Collaborate with development, security, and platform teams to assess existing on-premise infrastructure and develop tailored Google Cloud Platform deployment strategies that meet client needs.
• Technical Advisory: Provide technical leadership and advisory to implementation teams during application migration, ensuring best practices are followed and cloud solutions are optimized.
• Solution Design: Architect secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud solutions using Google Cloud Platform services, such as Google Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud SQL/AlloyDB, Google Cloud Storage, VPC, and Cloud Armor.
• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Create and maintain cloud architecture documentation, policies, and procedures, and provide training to technical teams to ensure they can manage and optimize the environment post-deployment.
• Issue Resolution & Support: Act as a point of escalation for troubleshooting complex cloud-related issues and collaborate with client technical teams to ensure high availability and dependability.
• Prototyping & Cloud-Native Design: Work with product teams to prototype ideas and design cloud-native architectures for future application development, ensuring compliance with golden paths to enhance reusability.
• Client Alignment: Ensure Google Cloud Platform solutions align with organizational objectives, integrating business and technical requirements into the overall architecture.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in cloud architecture and public cloud infrastructure, with at least 2 years focused on Google Cloud.
• Demonstrated experience as a Cloud Architect, with a strong understanding of cloud-based technologies and Google Cloud Platform services.
• Extensive experience migrating on-premise applications to public cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with serverless architectures and cloud-native application design, leveraging Google Cloud Platform services.
• Strong consulting and advisory skills, with the ability to work directly with technical and business teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

To stand out, you'll ideally have:

• Experience working in consulting roles, advising clients on cloud migration strategies and solutions.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and Agile frameworks, enabling seamless and secure cloud service deployment.
• Experience with platform orchestration engines, such as Humanitec.
• Previous experience working with product engineering teams.
• Experience in regulated industries and/or Higher Education.
