About the Company and Role
Workwarp is partnering with Disney Diversion and ESPN Innovations to seek a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join the Playback Quality Enhancement group within the Media Designing Association. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the media experience of Disney+ clients and beyond, working on high-impact, client-facing projects that drive business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive technical leadership and oversee all aspects of a codebase, ensuring technical excellence and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data and refine the media playback experience for clients.
- Develop and maintain complex software systems, leveraging technologies such as Rust, Typescript, and Python (Pandas/NumPy).
- Ensure day-to-day system reliability and availability, demonstrating a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, presenting technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Integrate client code into a larger codebase, working collaboratively with other engineers to drive project success.
Essential Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in programming languages such as Rust.
- A proven track record of delivering complex projects, with a history of technical excellence and reliability.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed and collaborative environment.
- A BS in Computer Science or equivalent, with a strong foundation in software engineering principles.
- Experience building and integrating client code into a larger codebase.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Real-time Video Playback, including protocols such as HLS.
- A background in developing software for consumer devices, such as mobile phones, game consoles, smart speakers, and smart TVs.
- Experience working in embedded or resource-constrained environments.
- Familiarity with technologies such as WASM, Python, Swift, or Bright script.
