Position Purpose
The Data Engineer II is responsible for supporting our enterprise data warehouse for Supply Chain Operations. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy scalable software solutions. As a Data Engineer II, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of technologies, including Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and ETL tools. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our data systems, as well as driving innovation and improvement in our data engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery and Execution (60%):
- Collaborate with product team members (UX, engineering, and product management) to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions.
- Document, review, and ensure that all quality and change control standards are met.
- Work with Product Team to ensure user stories that are developer-ready, easy to understand, and testable.
- Write custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases.
- Write custom code or scripts to do destructive testing to ensure adequate resiliency in production.
- Program configuration/modification and setup activities on large projects using HD-approved methodology.
- Configure commercial off-the-shelf solutions to align with evolving business needs.
- Create meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to ensure that issues are captured and addressed proactively.
- Learning (20%):
- Actively seek ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels.
- Learn through successful and failed experiments when tackling new problems.

Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
- 2 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Extensive ETL experience, preferably with a focus on Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience in CI/CD tools.
- Extensive experience working in SQL, with the ability to work with most databases.
- Previous experience working with BigQuery as a Data Warehouse service.
- Hands-on experience in a big data environment.
- Experience in version control systems.
- Familiarity with Data Science principles and practices.
- Knowledge of Dimensional Modeling using relevant tools.
