The Role: Healthcare Data Entry Specialist
As a Healthcare Data Entry Specialist, you'll play a vital role in our insurance verification and enrollment processes, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data entry in IDX and health plan portals. Your expertise in healthcare terminology, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, will be instrumental in driving data accuracy and quality. You'll be responsible for:
- Policy Management:
- Updating member information accurately and promptly in electronic portals
- Handling policy termination requests, processing policy terminations effectively, and policy reinstatements
- Performing data entry tasks with precision and efficiency in IDX and health plan portals
- Health Coverage:
- Updating information about coverage plans, including eligibility, benefits, limitations, and exclusions
- Conducting thorough research to locate insurance plans for healthcare providers, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information in medical portals
- Escalating any duplicates or issues regarding plan coverage to supervisors
- Analyzing and interpreting healthcare insurance verification and enrollment information
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive member information
- Escalating complex issues to supervisors or managers for further assistance and resolution
- Staying updated on changes in health insurance regulations, policies, and procedures
- Utilizing knowledge of medical terminology and coding to enhance data accuracy
- Collaborating effectively with team members to achieve shared goals and maintain a positive work environment
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- At least one (1) year of experience in claims examination, health insurance, customer service, call center, medical office, or other healthcare-related field
- Strong computer experience, including data entry, screen navigation, and keyboarding
- Excellent typing skills to maintain speed and accuracy
- Ability to adhere to daily schedules and duties
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills to manage data effectively
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
- Multi-tasking and attention to detail
- Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Experience and Skills
While not mandatory, the following experience and skills will be considered a plus:
- Experience in healthcare insurance verification and enrollment processes
- Familiarity with IDX and health plan portals
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
