About the Role

As a Technical Support Engineer, you'll be the primary point of contact for our external content teams when they encounter issues with the tools provided by our internal development team. You'll work closely with these teams to resolve technical issues, provide training and reference materials, and gather feedback to improve our tools and workflows. Your expertise will help drive the development of new features and enhancements, ensuring that our content creators have the best possible tools to produce exceptional content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to external content teams, responding to their queries and resolving issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Create high-quality reference materials and training content to help external teams get up to speed with our toolset
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues with our tools and workflows, working closely with our development team to resolve complex problems
  • Escalate complex or problematic issues to our tool development team, tracking progress in JIRA and ensuring timely resolution
  • Advocate for tools, workflow improvements, and suggestions from external teams, driving enhancements that improve efficiency and quality
  • Partner with other engineers to develop new tools and processes that improve our content creation capabilities
  • Lead cross-disciplinary discussions to drive features from concept to completion, ensuring that our tools meet the needs of our content creators
  • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions, maintaining the high standards expected of a Netflix team member

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional support. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience supporting a live service or tool environment, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with it
  • Proficiency in C# code, with the ability to read and understand complex technical concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience working with external partners and stakeholders
  • A positive attitude and ability to receive and provide objective and constructive feedback, driving continuous improvement
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests simultaneously
  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications will be considered a plus:

  • Experience with Unity 3D game and tool development, with a strong understanding of the technical challenges and opportunities in this space
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or other defect tracking software, with experience using these tools to manage and track issues
  • iOS and Android mobile development experience, with a strong understanding of the technical requirements and challenges in this space
  • 5+ years of experience delivering production-level code in a professional environment, with a strong track record of success
