About the Role and Industry

The VAPE manufacturing industry is under increasing scrutiny due to its impact on public health. As a VAPE Manufacturing Inspector, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that manufacturers comply with legislative provisions designed to safeguard consumers. Your role will involve conducting non-confrontational inspections at various VAPE manufacturing facilities across different cities and states, documenting compliance, and reporting findings to the relevant authorities, including the FDA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to assigned locations according to schedule to conduct compliance checks on VAPE manufacturers.
  • Perform regular inspections of tobacco (VAPE) manufacturers and complete compliance check inspection forms.
  • Identify and document relevant facts and findings needed to complete inspections assigned.
  • Conduct interviews and inspections with key business officials in a professional manner.
  • Capture and collect high-quality photographs of evidence pertaining to the requested information from the inspection form to submit to the FDA.
  • Provide accurate, high-quality, and timely reports on all inspections.
  • Prepare narrative reports revealing potential compliance issues or violations.
  • Adhere to strict regulations regarding the performance of inspections.
  • Testify as a witness, if and when requested by the FDA, in administrative hearings and court proceedings related to inspections conducted.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Be a current employee of any State, Territory, or political subdivision thereof as a health/food inspector, drug officer, law enforcement officer, or firefighter.
  • Hold an Associate of Arts (AA) degree, preferably with 24 hours in criminology coursework, or have 2 years of related experience in lieu of the education requirement.
  • Maintain current employment in one of the specified roles.
  • Be able to obtain/maintain a Level 5 Public Trust clearance and a commission.
  • Willingness to travel to various cities and states to complete inspections.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Skilled in observing places of business, gathering and analyzing data, and possessing great attention to detail.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete a training session.
  • No conflict of interest with the assigned manufacturers.
  • Ability to complete a minimum of ten inspections per month.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience performing inspections and compliance checks.
  • A Bachelor's degree.
