Job Summary
This posting establishes a pool of candidates to fill temporary, non-tenure-track lecturer positions in Urban and Regional Planning. Appointments will be made semester-by-semester, as teaching needs arise, and will be part-time (less than 50%). The anticipated duration of this pool is through May 2024.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach graduate-level courses in Urban and Regional Planning, which may include lectures, seminars, and studios in various teaching modes (in-person, hybrid, online, remote).
- Classes taught may range from three to six credit hours.
- Engage with students, foster a positive learning environment, and promote academic excellence.
- Develop and deliver course materials, assessments, and evaluations.
Essential Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Planning or a related field.
- A substantive background in urban planning or related fields, including experience with professional activities, research, interdisciplinary collaborations, community engagement, and relevant software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience.
- A record of professional practice in planning.
- A professional degree in a planning-related field.
- Multi-disciplinary education and expertise.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of urban planning principles, theories, and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation and Benefits
The hiring rate for this position is $5,454 for a 3-credit hour course and $8,080 for a 6-credit hour course.
