Job Summary
This posting establishes a pool of candidates to fill temporary, non-tenure-track lecturer positions in Architecture. Appointments will be part-time (less than 50%) and will be made semester-by-semester, as teaching needs arise. We are seeking a pool of Lecturers from which future appointments will be made, and this posting is anticipated to remain continuously active through May 2024.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach six-credit-hour design studios in the Department of Architecture's undergraduate and/or graduate programs
- Develop and manage student projects through constructive criticism, using a range of technologies from technical drafting to advanced digital design tools and visualization software
- Demonstrate expertise in architectural design, including knowledge of different design paradigms, design skills, and approaches to project design
- Teach in various modes, including in-person, hybrid, online, and remote
- Possess and demonstrate expertise in a specific area of focus, if applying to teach a non-studio course
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
We prefer candidates with:
- A professional degree in architecture or a terminal degree in a related field
- Prior teaching experience
- Professional registration
- A record of professional practice in architecture
Skills and Competencies
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Expertise in architectural design and education
- Strong communication and teaching skills
- Ability to develop and manage student projects
- Proficiency in a range of technologies, including technical drafting and advanced digital design tools
- Ability to work in a variety of teaching modes, including in-person, hybrid, online, and remote
