Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach dance classes for children and adults, tailoring instruction to meet the needs of diverse age groups and skill levels.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate various dance styles, techniques, and choreography.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to participants, ensuring they have a positive and rewarding experience.
  • Promote and market dance programs to attract new participants and retain existing ones.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, adhering to City policies and procedures.
  • Complete necessary reports and forms, such as attendance records and accident reports.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Arrange for substitute instructors when necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, interacting with participants and parents in a professional and friendly manner.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in dance instruction, with experience teaching a variety of dance styles.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, exercise science, and injury prevention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to plan, instruct, and supervise dance classes.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in working with diverse age groups and skill levels.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Child/Adult CPR and First Aid certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • One year of experience in dance instruction.
  • Relevant certifications or education in dance or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and adults in a recreational or educational setting.
