Job Summary

As a Senior Manufacturing Technician at Confluent Medical Technologies, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of medical device tubing through extrusion processes. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams to drive process improvements. Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain extrusion equipment for medical device tubing production, adhering to specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform multi-lumen extrusion, tri-layer extrusion, and bump extrusions with precision and accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Read and interpret product drawings, documentation, and work instructions to ensure accurate production.
  • Complete process logs and documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Utilize computer applications, including MS Office, to support production and documentation needs.
  • Inspect products using microscopes, calipers, pin gages, and other quality control tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Research and apply knowledge of previous methods, processes, equipment, and tooling to new applications, driving continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop new process parameters, tooling, and methods for manufacturing, focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and yield optimization.
  • Develop clear and concise work instructions, test methods, and visual standards to support production and quality control.
  • Train and mentor other technicians and operators in assembly techniques, inspection methods, and required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve issues, driving collaborative continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a relevant field.
  • 7-10 years of prior extrusion experience, preferably in a medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in extrusion processes.
  • Willingness to work in a clean room environment and adhere to GMP requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot moderately complex issues on existing processes, methods, equipment, and tooling.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Principles (GMP) and attention to detail.
  • Professional attitude and a team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-lumen extrusion, tri-layer extrusion, and bump extrusions.
  • Familiarity with medical device manufacturing and regulatory requirements.
  • Previous experience working with engineering teams to drive process improvements and develop new manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze data to drive decision-making.
