Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Kindergarten Teaching Assistant to provide essential support to our certified teaching staff and students in a remote setting. As a Kindergarten Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with our educators to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters social, emotional, and academic growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other essential skills, tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of each learner.
  • Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs, promoting a deep understanding of key concepts and fostering a love of learning.
  • Support professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests, and assessments, ensuring accurate and timely feedback.
  • Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs, helping to create a personalized and engaging learning experience.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to document student learning and performance, providing valuable insights into student progress and informing instruction.
  • Contribute to classroom behavioral management, minimizing disruptions and ensuring a safe, orderly, and respectful learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
  • Assist students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, and other related activities, promoting a sense of community and teamwork.
  • Accompany students on field trips, providing essential support and supervision to ensure a fun and enriching experience.
  • Construct, copy, distribute, and use educational materials as needed, demonstrating creativity and resourcefulness in your approach.
  • Assist teachers with parent contact, fostering effective and participatory parent involvement in student education and promoting a collaborative approach to learning.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with kindergarten students or in a related field, demonstrating a deep understanding of child development and learning principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a remote setting, utilizing digital tools and platforms to facilitate communication and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with special needs students or in a special education setting, demonstrating a commitment to inclusive and supportive practices.
  • Familiarity with educational software and technology, including learning management systems and digital tools.
  • Certification in early childhood education or a related field, such as Child Development Associate (CDA) or Certified Childcare Professional (CCP).
