Job Summary
As an Assistant Professor in our online MSW program, you will be responsible for facilitating learning, engaging in scholarship, and contributing to service activities. You will teach remotely and be expected to develop and teach courses, assess student learning, and mentor students. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team of faculty and contribute to the growth and development of our online MSW program.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate learning in online courses, including course preparation, curriculum coordination, and assessment of student learning
- Develop and teach courses in the MSW program, with a focus on social work practice, research, and policy
- Mentor and advise students, providing guidance and support in their academic and professional pursuits
- Engage in scholarship, including research, publication, and presentation, to advance knowledge in the field of social work
- Contribute to service activities, including community engagement, professional organizations, and University governance
- Participate in program governance, including committee work and decision-making processes
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Earn a Master's of Social Work (MSW) degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program
- Earn a doctoral degree in Social Work or a closely related field from an accredited college or university
- Possess 2-3 years of teaching experience, with a focus on social work education at the graduate level
- Demonstrate familiarity with social work practice, research, and policy
- Show a strong commitment to cultural competence and diversity
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience with online education and course development
- Publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Presentation experience at national and international conferences
- Involvement in professional organizations and community engagement
