Job Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining taxonomies and metadata models that support the discovery and recommendation of content on our platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Publicity, Brand, Product Studio, Editorial Creative, Globalization, and Data Science Engineering, to develop and implement standardized metadata and taxonomies that enable the efficient use of our creative assets. Your expertise in taxonomy development, metadata management, and information architecture will be essential in driving the success of our content discovery and recommendation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and develop new taxonomies and metadata associated with technical, administrative, and creative attributes for all promotional video, art, and digital media assets and their campaigns.
• Survey and interview stakeholders to understand current workflows and identify areas for improvement.
• Identify new needs and fill gaps in our current data structure from a data shape/data connectedness perspective.
• Work with subject matter experts to define workflows and requirements for metadata application.
• Reconcile disparate taxonomies and metadata across teams and advocate for shared metadata and taxonomies across tools and teams.
• Collaborate with engineering partners to identify solution requirements, such as intuitive UI for metadata application.
• Audit current taxonomies and improve their performance.
• Ensure metadata is defined in a way that its integrity is not compromised by cultural bias.
• Establish a governance framework for all metadata and taxonomies.
• Develop maintenance structures for all metadata and taxonomies.
• Work with team experts to develop training materials and sessions.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• Experience defining and developing taxonomy and metadata schemas.
• Experience working with Marketing, Publicity, and/or creative promotional assets.
• Experience with Information Architecture from a data shape/data connectedness perspective.
• Experience working with asset management systems like DAMS or MAMS for creative and production assets.
• Experience working with collaborative, internal-dealing workflow packages and project management tools.
• Experience working in high-volume content environments.
• Experience working with systems shared across internal teams and vendors.
• Experience establishing a governance system to maintain taxonomies.
• Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation.
• Experience working in a global context.
• Ability to work with and manage multiple stakeholders' expectations and priorities.
• Ability to set goals and work independently in a highly cross-functional, non-hierarchical workplace.
• Ability to lead across diverse functional groups.
• Familiarity with software development cycles and practices.
• Comfortable working in a wide range of software programs from spreadsheets to proprietary apps to third-party tools.

• Master's degree in associated fields: Data Management, Computer Science, Library & Information Science.
